Pampering Old and Disabled Citizens

Never forget where you come from.  Image: A member of Empower an African Child giving a disabled citizen a manicure at the Busy Bee Old Age Home. As much as our focus is on young people and their needs, it is crucial for our organization to be involved in spaces that make our elders feel valued and seen. Pamper day included foot massages, pedicures, and manicures. Some members of our team took it upon themselves to feed the Busy Bee residents, giving the nurses and workers a moment to rest. These demographics can be easily forgotten as we move through life but we use initiatives like this as a wake-up call. It is our job to show grace and humility where it is needed.  The only way to move forward is to remember where we've been and these elders are the roadmaps to those roots.
